Leadership in the Public Sector

graduation1The Leadership in the Public Sector on-line degree completion program focuses on providing non-traditional students with a liberal arts foundation in the ethical, theoretical, and policy analytical skills necessary to be effective leaders in public sector organizations. Admission to LPS: Please note that current N.C. State students are not allowed to transfer to this major. The only N. C. State students who can apply are those who have not been at the University for at least 3 years and are applying for readmission. The LPS program is a bachelor’s degree completion program; therefore, students admitted to the program usually have completed their associate’s degree (AA or AS with 60 transferable hours not an AAS) or have 60 credit hours completed towards their bachelor’s degree. Competitive candidates for admission have also completed their Math, English, significant general education courses and have 3.0 GPA. However, emphasis will be placed on the most recent academic coursework completed. Courses vary but could include: The Presidency and Congress, Public Policy, Science Technology and Public Policy, Introduction to Public Administration, Public Leadership, Public Opinion Research Methodology, Leadership in the Public & Nonprofit Sectors, Essentials of Fundraising for Leaders in the Public Sector and Non-Profit, State and Local Government
