Microbiology

Jim Brown conducts a Microbiology Lab in Bostian Hall where Students are learning to stain slides and view them with a microscope. Microbiology is the study of bacteria, archaea, viruses, fungi and unicellular eukaryotes, and their interactions with humans, plants, animals, and the world around us. Courses in the major focus on the basic science of microbial life, human/animal interactions with microbial life (including both disease and symbiosis), and how microbes are (or could be) used for our benefit.
