Environmental Technology & Management

Dr. Stacy Nelson works with a student and a researcher on the Roanoke Sound near Corolla, NC, studying the effects of run-off and aquatic plant life.

Environmental Technology and Management prepares students to be on the frontline of protecting our environment. Through hands-on experiences, students apply classroom knowledge to effectively solve environmental problems using monitoring, assessment, management, and communication. The focus of these experiences is to manage environmental challenges in air, water, soil/sediment, and natural systems, using modern tools and technologies.

Several professional certifications can be achieved through the Environmental Technology Program. These professional certifications open possibilities for careers with environmental consultants, industries, universities and government agencies.
